Technologies Unintended Impact

Steve Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness whose Apple products far reaching impact, could not have been imagined. The iPad is revolutionizing communication for children and changing lives of those with autism, cerebral palsy and brain injuries.

Guest Holly Palmer, singer songwriter, and Mom shares her remarkable story about learning to communicate with her 3 yr old brain injured son, Maceo. Because of the iPad and an App called Proloquo2Go, Maceo can now amazingly express his thoughts, and among other things, is able to tell his parents that he loves them. You can follow Maceo's progress here on Facebook.

David Niemeijer, developer of Proloquo2Go, talks about how this App and others they've designed are changing the lives of so many. And why he created it in the first place. A story of resilience of children, devotion of parents and the unintended impact of modern technology. Both uplifting and educational.

A very special show this week. Singer songwriter Holly Palmer, shares her inspirational story as a Mom to 2-1/2 yr old Maceo, and the real life miracle of learning to communicate with her brain injured son. Because of the iPad and an App called Proloquo2Go, Maceo can now amazingly express his thoughts, and among other things, is able to tell his parents that he loves them. A story of resilience of children, devotion of parents and the unintended impact of modern technology. Both uplifting and educational. Holly's blog  'Sometimes The Impossible Takes A Little Bit Longer' is honest about real life and a source of comfort and inspiration to parents in similar circumstances.
